Childhood cancer has rocked our family in a way that I never could have imagined. When Jack was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia just three months shy of his fourth birthday our world was completely turned upside down. Jack is almost two years in to a 3.5 year treatment protocol and although Jack's body has responded exceptionally well, the weeks can be difficult. The emotional side effects and the worry have done a number on all of us.
Due to continued research, Jack's prognosis is fortunately very good but there is still work to be done! We chose this way of fundraising because it is a great way for Jack to participate and give back. Through this lemonade stand we are recognizing the children that are fighting everyday and the memories of those lost.
Please join us on Saturday, August 23 from 1-4pm right out in front of our house. We will have lemonade and baked goods and will be accepting donations to help childhood cancer research. Come visit, enjoy some lemonade, toast Jack and his fight and hope that a piece of what we are doing will prevent another child from enduring what Jack and so many other kids have been forced to endure.
