When
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We are making a team for Alex's Million Mile. Alex was an amazing little girl with a big heart who raised 1 million dollars for pediatric cancer research before she passed away of neuroblastoma. The goal of Alex's Million Mile is to raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer with a million miles of healthy fun in September. 100% of proceeds go to pediatric cancer research. Government funding is at an all time low, with only 3.8% of cancer research dollars going to peds. It costs $50 for 1 hour of research, $400 for a day, and $2,000 for a week.
This is personal for us as this foundation has helped fund our son Benton's doctor, Julie Park, in research studies to help cure neuroblastoma. Please join our team or make a donation to help save other children's lives. 46 children will be diagnosed with cancer , and 7 will lose the battle today. We know the statistic all to well, but want hope for our neuroblastoma buddies and more!
To join the Benton Buddies Team, sign up here and keep track of the miles you've walked, ran, or biked. You may get pledges for your miles, which would be awesome, but not mandatory. You can update your miles on this page or you can use the app that keeps track for you.
Will you go "the extra mile" with us?
