My team and I are helping the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation raise funds to find a cure for all childhood cancer in honor of my son Alex Solis who would have turned 16 years old on September 15th of this year. Please support us in this effort.
Alex Solis was a typical 11 year old boy filled with energry, love, and an infectious sense of humor prior to his diagnosis of cancer. He was a sports junkie who loved to attend baseball, basketball, and football games around the San Francisco Bay Area. Alex was well loved by his family and friends.
In one day after the dreadful news of cancer, his life and the lives of his family and community changed forever. Daily activites no longer consisted of homework, baseball practice, and sleepovers with friends, but rather painful IV needle sticks, severe nausea and vomiting, many extended stays in the hospitals, 2 leg amputations, lung surgeries, and numerous rounds of toxic chemotherapy treatments.
Alex fought the battle of his life, yet he remained cheerful, courageous, and full of love and hope. Alex Solis died peacefully in the arms of his mother and father at home the morning of May 20th 2011. Alex's sweet smile and contagious sense of humor will never be forgotten.
Childhood cancer is not as rare as you might think. 1 in every 300 children will develop cancer before the age of 20, yet research funding is very limited. Please help to support our efforts to raise money to support childhood cancer research. Please donate or join our team today!
