Thank you for visiting and welcome to TSC's fundraising page! We are doing what we can to help 'ICE' pediatric cancer. We will be hosting our Alex's Lemonade Stand on Friday, November 28 from 11am - 4pm at TSC, where we will be selling homemade lemonade and baked goods! Please stop by - if you are unable to, you may make a tax-deductible donation right here! Thanks for joining in our effort to 'ICE' pediatric cancer!
*If you would like to help with the lemonade stand, we are looking for volunteers as well as donations of lemonade ingredients, baked goods for the bake sale, and entertainment! Please contact us on Facebook (http://Facebook.com/ToyotaSportsCenter) for more info or to help out!*
Our lemonade stand is being held in honor of Gunwoong Park:
Gunwoong Park is a 7 year old hockey player and that is exactly how he will introduce himself to you. Not as a child who has leukemia, but as a hockey player.
His story begins with his family moving to the States in June 2011 and two months later, Gunwoong was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The rest of his family, including his 11 year old older brother Semin, understand the seriousness of his condition, but Gunwoong with his bright personality only knows that his day-to-day looks a bit different with frequent hospital visits and dealing with the side effects of treatment.
But what he is proud of saying is also different about himself is that he gets to learn hockey at the Toyota Sports Center through CoachArt, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of families affected by childhood chronic illness with lessons in the arts & athletics. That he has been able to learn as much as he has - even learning how to skate backwards! - is ample reason to celebrate his progress in hockey and in health. Gunwoong's newfound dream is to become an LA Kings hockey player, so be on the lookout for him!
