Hi friends! As a pediatric oncology nurse, I have the privilege of getting to know some very brave kids who are fighting cancer. I'm constantly amazed by the resiliency of these children and their families despite the challenges they face. It's a daily reminder to give thanks for each day, no matter what life may give you. But sadly, children's cancer research is still under-funded, as cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease in children over one year of age.
I'm excited to be running the NYC Half Marathon this year, raising money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a non-profit organization which helps fund research for children's cancer and also supports families currently in need. ALSF accelerates current research, draws in talented researchers to the field, and improves the quality of life for patients and families by providing support such as meals and travel. If you can, I ask that you consider making a donation to help these little fighters and their families. Alex's Lemonade Stand is rated 97% on Charity Navigator and just $50 funds one hour of research towards finding a cure for pediatric cancers. I've seen first-hand how families benefit from your generosity, and know it goes to help some very special people.
Love,
Alex
