Since taking over ownership at Fruit In Motion, Grant and I have thoroughly enjoyed making smoothies and juices there for 3 years now.  Getting to know our customers the way we have and the continued support we have received over the years has made us want to do something as a way of giving back the generosity that has been shown to us.

Over the last several years cancer has touched our lives in so many ways...We have watched some of our family members, friends and community members either fight the fight or, unfortunately, lose their battle. As a bystander, it seems that there is not much you can say or do to help a person diagnosed with cancer or a family affected by cancer; you tend to feel helpless.

When a friend mentioned one day while we were talking that she was now working for Alex's Lemonade Stand, it took all of a few minutes to know right away that this is how we can help, we would hold a Lemonade Stand!  My friend lost her son, C.J., 6 months ago, and she was more than excited to have this new job.  To her this was a way to raise money for research, and bring awareness to hopefully help prevent another child from having to go through what her son went through.

In talking to her I couldn't have agreed more...By hosting a Lemonade Stand we feel we can give back in honor of those fighting, and in memory of those we lost by helping raise money for research.  Hopefully there will be a day where we hear less and less about our loved ones getting cancer.

We at Fruit in Motion, along with our 4th St. business neighbors, want to help raise money so that more research can be done to come up with better treatments and possibly, someday, a cure!

Our fundraiser is in memory of C.J. Banaszek, an amazing boy who our family came to know through our elementary school and community, who could light up a room with his smile....and in honor of those who are in the fight of a lifetime....may you always know there is a quiet army fighting with you and for you.....
