We are excited to share Northwestern Mutual Elm Grove’s summer “Give Back” opportunity! We have been hosting an Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Waukesha Farmer’s Market every Saturday until October to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Northwestern Mutual launched this national philanthropic program in 2012 to accelerate the search for a cure to childhood cancer and to provide support to kids and families facing the daily struggles of these diseases. Northwestern Mutual has donated over $2 million to date. Our Elm Grove office goal is $10,000! It’s a high goal so we need everyone’s help!
Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a young cancer patient, was only 4 years old when she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for "her hospital," so doctors could help other kids like they'd helped her. Alex held her first stand in 2000 and continued to hold lemonade stands each year, inspiring support from her community and across the nation. Although sadly Alex passed away at the age of 8, she knew she had reached the ambitious goal of raising $1 million for childhood cancer research.
We are carrying on Alex's inspiring legacy by raising money to fight childhood cancer. Will you make a donation? As Alex's life showed, our small contributions can make a big impact. Thanks!
