Welcome to my page. I am Ken of Kens10000milesforchildhoodcancer.com I set out this year to ride 10,000 miles to raise awareness and donations to help out Alex's Lemonade in their quest to cure childhood cancer. I am about 2000 miles into the ride. It has been a bumpy start. I started in Tuscon Arizonia, and currently I am in Nashville Tennesse. I have had to endure 24 of 37 days of rain. I had my bicycle frame bent. I have had more flats already then I have ever had on any of my cross country treks. And of yeah, I got hit by a truck in Mississippi. But, I am alive and well and doing my best to raise money for the organization.
When this journey is over, I will have logged over 210,000 miles on a bicycle riding these great states. As this will be, my tenth and probably final trip across America, I want it to be special. As a two time survivor of brain cancer, I want to do my part and help fund the research of childhood cancer. So, please join me along the way if you can, and ride a mile with me, donate to my event, or do your own event. We just all need to get invloved in one way or another so that we can beat this and let the children have the chance to grow old.
Please help me out in my attempt to raise over $10,000 by, donating to this page, or you can go to my team sponsored site (http://www.kens10000milesforchildhoodcancer.com), and purchase a T-shirt that commemorates this ride. Thanks for your support.
Warmest Regards
Ken Bettencourt

Day 6 was an adventure today. Couple of flat tires out on the road, but its not that big of a deal. I look at that as being my biggest problem. But when I think about these children that are suffering from cancer, I just want to help every one of them. I really admire what Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation stands for. The money they have raised to help fund research and help those in need, its amazing. My hopes are that this little bicycle ride will really help theses kids out. Its going to take more than just me, so we all got to come together and do what we can to help these kids.
Please keep up with my ride and help me raise donations. If you want to host your own event, please do. Because it doesn't matter where the money comes from, what matters is, that we do our part and help those that need it.
