Welcome to my page! On November 1, 2015 I will be running the 2015 New York City Marathon as a member of Team Lemon and I could not be more excited! A few weeks ago, on a very rainy Saturday in March, I completed my first marathon, something I never thought I could, or would ever want to do. In fact, when I told my friends that I was training for a marathon, most of them had the same reaction, which was "but you hate running." While that may have been true, I've officially caught the running bug and, well, here we are.

I'm thrilled to be running with Team Lemon this year. Team Lemon is the official team for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that raises money, funds research and empowers families affected by childhood cancer. Alex Scott, the inspiration behind Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was diagnosed with cancer just before her first birthday. While in the hospital for cancer treatments when she was four, she told her parents she wanted to open a lemonade stand to help raise money to help doctors find a cure for all children with cancer. Her first lemonade stand raised over $2,000. Alex passed away at the age of eight but in her short time, through her lemonade stands, successfully raised over $1 million. Over a decade later, there is still no cure for children’s cancer. My goal is to raise $3,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation by November 1, 2015. Let’s continue the fight against childhood cancer, one cup at a time!
