Welcome to Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer, Fundraising Website. This is our second annual Lemonade Stand, held for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. If you have not seen a video about this foundation and our personal hero, Alex Scott, we strongly advise you to do so. 263,000 new children are affected by cancer every year. The thought of any innocent child and their families having to cope with this sort of torment and heart ache is dreadful. Together we can make a difference. We believe in never giving up on hope, especially for the sake of these brave children. We also understand the importance in being compassionate and giving back. We realize that not only is this charity event to raise money for an exceptional cause, but in addition, it allows the opportunity to build a valuable lesson of character within our youth. We urge you to accompany us, as we raise money in hopes, and a goal, that NO child will ever have to fight this battle. This extraordinary event will be held Sunday, May 17, 2015, 11:00 a.m-5:30 p.m, Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road, Las Vegas, NV. There will be small carnival games, prizes, an inflatable slide, face painting, crafts, fun games, raffles, hot dogs, popcorn, baked treats and of course Lemonade! We look forward to seeing you there!
*This fundraiser is in honor of our 10 year old hero, Drake Landing. At the age of 9, he was diagnosed with a cancer named, Osteosarcoma. This cancer was found in his left arm by his shoulder. In this past year he has had multiple chemo treatments. Along with harsh chemo treatments, he also had surgery on his clavicle bone in attempt to remove this cancerous tumor. In doing so, doctors were forced to remove part of his bone and replaced it with a titanium plate. He was unfortunately left without his rotary cuff on his shoulder, causing him to not be able move his arm. Months later, it was found that the bone was not growing on the titanium plate. He was sent to Salt Lake City, Utah to see Doctor Randall who specialized in this type of surgery. Doctor Randall had removed his titanium plate and replaced it with his fibula bone from his right leg. At this moment in time, everything seems to be working out the way it should. Drake now has to be extremely careful in risk of losing his arm. He has since become more involved with the artist side of him. He loves to play the piano and the guitar, and has also taken on painting. He has even auctioned off many of his paintings to raise money for childhood cancer. Drake has remained strong and positive throughout this battle. Drake is being called," The Child of Courage" and will have the honor of meeting the President and the First Lady of the United States. He will be representing ten million children in the United States and Canada. We are incredibly honored to have Drake as our hero. He is an extremely courageous child and an inspiration to all.
