The 3rd grade at Prodigy Learning Center will be hosting a car wash fundraiser on Wednesday, April 29 from 11 until 3(ish) for school staff and student's families. Orignially the event was a fundraiser to raise money for a class trip to Smith Playground, and to make memory books for each student. Tianna, a student, in the class suggested that instead we donate the money to a charity, and the rest of the class agreed. After researching and discussing a few different charities the students choose Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and The Lupus Foundation. The students are developing a business plan, and running the car wash as part of a social studies and math unit on economics, and are excited to include a lemonade stand (and a chance to help more people through another great cause) as part of the day.
