When
Welcome back to the Two Sisters' Lemonade Stand! For the third year in a row we are holding a lemonade stand to raise funds for pediatric cancer research with Alex's Lemonade Stand. Last year we exceeded our goal of $250. This year we have upped our goal to $400, which will fund one day of research.
Our youngest child, Molly, was diagnosed with infant leukemia when she was 4 months old. At the time she was given a frightening prognosis of a 40% chance of survival. Now she is a thriving 4.5 year old full of silliness and mischief, attending preschool and playing on a T-ball team.
She is one of the lucky ones. About 200 babies each year are diagnosed with this rare and aggresive form of blood cancer. A handful, like Molly, achieve remission quickly and don't relapse. Many babies with this diagnosis undergo bone marrow transplants. Some survive. Please help support research into a cure for childhood cancer, as well as research into less toxic treatments for our children.
We will be holding our lemonade stand at the Annual Blackfly Festival in Adamant, VT on May 30 from 11-2. Please come and have "more fun than thought humanly possible" at the festival (www.blackflyfestival.org) and support Alex's Lemonade Stand at the same time.
This year we are also proud to be the Vermont State Hero Representatives for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. You can see our page here: http://www.alexslemonade.org/campaign/alexs-lemonade-days/vermont
If you can't make it to the stand itself (and the fabulously fun festival), please consider donating online. We'll be accepting online donations from May 11 through June 15. Thank you in advance for your support.
