When
I am excited to say that in November I will be running my first marathon in the 2015 Philadelphia Marathon (26.2 miles) to raise funds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national organization dedicated to finding cures for childhood cancer by funding important research projects, in memory of my dear friend Corbyn Wile.
This past March the world lost a beautiful person, however what was left behind was a fighting spirit and unbreakable legacy. We have decided to fundraise for ALSF in hopes for fewer families losing a child, sibling, or friend to childhood cancer. ALSF was founded on the inspiration of 4-year-old Alex Scott who was determined to help other children battling cancer. In August 2004, Alex passed away at the age of 8, knowing that, with the help of others, she had raised more than $1 million to help find a cure for the disease that took her life.
Achieving my goal of raising $1,500 toward childhood cancer research will make every mile that much more meaningful. I am asking you to consider making a gift to support this great cause. Any amount you can donate (no matter how small) is incredibly appreciated! All donations are, of course, tax deductible.
If you choose to donate you will help fund childhood cancer research, but you also have the option of restricting your gift to a particular type of cancer or fund. Corbyn courageously fought a battle against Rhabdomyosarcoma, and your donation can specifically go towards more research of this cancer.
Thank you so much for your support and generosity, and know that "no one fights alone".
