When I was 13 I was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma, a rare type of cancer. When I was diagnosed my parents were told that if I hadn't gone to the hospital that I would have died within 24 hours. I wasn't expected to make it out of surgery, but I was given a miracle and made it not only through my first surgery, but also through the countless surgeries and chemo that would be my life for the next 6 + months. Fighting cancer was the hardest thing that I have ever faced in my life. There were times that I didn't know if I could do it, but with my family, friends, doctors, nurses, and child life specialists by my side I made it! Fighting cancer is a battle that nobody should ever have to fight, but especially no child should ever have to fight! I knew that I wanted to spend my life raising awareness for childhood cancer and help to find a cure for this horrible disease. I'm helping Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation raise funds to find a cure for all childhood cancers – you can too!
