Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a young cancer patient, was only 4 years old when she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for "her hospital," so doctors could help other kids like they'd helped her. Alex held her first stand in 2000 and with the help of her brother, raised over $2,000. Alex continued to hold lemonade stands each year, inspiring support from her community and across the nation. Although sadly Alex passed away in 2004 at the age of 8, she knew she had reached her ambitious goal of raising $1 million for childhood cancer research. Since then, kids, communities and organizations have raised over $100 Million.
We are happy to help carry on Alex's inspiring legacy by using our Crab Cake Challenge event as an opportunity to raise money to help fight childhood cancer. Go to www.CrabCakeChallenge.com to register to attend our event. If you can't make it to our event, will you make a donation here? Or maybe even enlist your kids to hold their own "Alex's Lemonade Stand" and donate the money here toward our overall effort? As Alex's life showed, small contributions can make a big impact. Thank you!
