Anyone who knows me has heard the story about our lemonade stand - how it's very important to me to me to teach my children to give back and how this cause is near and dear to my heart. We have participated in many charity projects as a family but this is the one that has always been our favorite and one that each one of us can really participate in. For the past 5 years I have had the privilege of working with my girls to raise money for children's cancer through an Alex's Lemonade Stand that is now a special part of our annual Labor Day Party. Anyone who visited our Lemonade Stand knows the excitement and pride that the girls get from helping (and that they are quite the little fundraisers!). The story of Alex and her giving spirit has always touched and inspired us. Our past 5 Lemonade Stands combined have raised over $1,800 for childhood cancer. Last year alone we raised over $450 and although I set a modest goal of $100 again this year I would love to make it to the $500 mark this year. Thanks to all of you for allowing me to show my girls how easy it is to make a difference. Your generousity is amazing and I love how over the years you and your children have helped make this possible.
