When
Every year, an estimated 263,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. That's 720 new kids affected every day. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded. Less than 5% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
The Taggart family became involved with Alex's Lemonade Stand when John Taggart, the oldest son, found out about the organization. He was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was 2 1/2 years old and loved how this organization was created by a little girl like himself. Fortunately, John was able to host a stand in 2005 before he passed away at 5 years old. Alex's Million Miles is a great opportunity for the community to help out children like John and their families who are impacted by cancer.
Kids with cancer don't have time to wait. Your donation will go to research seeking lifesaving treatment. The money you give has the potential to make a huge difference for these kids and their families. Please give!
