I'm Katie, and I'm 10 years old. My friend Ariana and I are holding this lemonade stand to raise money for our friend Isabel Rita who was diagnosed with a spinal cord tumor. She is going through chemo therapy and is getting a little better. We love her a lot and we want to do something to help her. I'm Katie's Mom, and what we've watched our friends the Rita family go through in the last 12 months has changed us.  One of the only bright spots in this journey has been that Isabel does NOT have a cancerous tumor, but her treatment is the same as a child who does have cancer. Isabel requires more than 40 doses of chemotherapy. What her tiny body has been put through is unthinkable, and in her mom Sonia's words, "My wish is that someday, children will have better medicines that don't make them sicker before getting better." Katie and Ariana are smart, mature and kind girls who realize the importance of helping, and I hope you can find some spare change to help them reach their goals.
