On October 9, 2008, just three days after Johnathon’s third birthday, The Doerr family had their world turned upside down when Johnathon Doerr was diagnosed with an aggressive form of childhood cancer called medulloblastoma. After a difficult surgery, several regimens of chemotherapy, and complete radiation of the brain stem and spine, Johnathon’s cancer returned. On May 2, 2009, Johnathon lost his seven month battle to cancer with his family by his side. Johnathon touched the hearts of so many and his giving spirit continues on as he donated his tumor to research dedicated to finding a cure for medulloblastoma and other childhood cancers. In tribute to Johnathon, first graders from Brownie troop 30113 will host a lemonade stand on June 12th at the swimming pool located at 5045 Fishburg Rd, Huber Heights, Ohio. The money raised will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. We hope you will join us on June 12th at the Fishburg Pool in squeezing out childhood cancer one cup at a time.
