The mission of the contest is to celebrate non-profit organizations and to award cash prizes to the deserving organization whose Christmas tree receives the most votes.
Duke University, Department of Medicine Research Administrators along with Dr. Gerry Blobe have banded together and reserved a tree to showcase and benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand
The contest begins tonight @ 7:00 PM after the lighting of the Lucky Strike water tower in Durham. You are allowed (1) vote per day by text from your cell phone and (1) vote per day via the internet from your email address.
If you choose to vote online, please go to this website and vote: http://www.triangletreechallenge.com You won’t be able to vote until tonight after 7:00: the site won’t be ready until then. When you do go to vote, just go to the site and enter your email address and put in our two digit tree number. Our tree number is 50!
If you would like to vote by texting, please text your vote to 313131 and enter TREE “space” 50 (TREE 50). Again, you will have to wait until 7:00 PM tonight before you can do this. You can vote every day until December 18th at 11:59 PM. The first prize is $5,000.00 and if all goes well it will go directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to help them find cures for childhood cancers. There are also other prizes available: you can see more information in the FAQ link below. The winner will be announced during the WRAL news on FOX 50 on or around December 20th. Thanks
