Check out video and photos of last year’s Telethon here!
On Thursday, June 10, 2010, CBS 3 Philadelphia will host the fourth annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Telethon. The event is the official kick-off to the Foundation’s national fundraising weekend, appropriately entitled Lemonade Days (June 11-13), when tens of thousands of volunteers from coast to coast take a stand against pediatric cancer by hosting lemonade stands of their own. The day will feature a live phone bank from 6AM – 8PM alongside the airing of the documentary, Alex Scott: A Stand for Hope. The day-long festivities hosted by the CBS3 news team, will also feature stories of childhood cancer and appearances by several special guests.
The telethon generated nearly $900,000 last year in pledges, thanks to corporate sponsors and Delaware Valley television viewers. CBS 3's phone lines were busy all day as viewers flooded the station with pledges ranging from $1 to $ 5,000. Those who make donations have the capability of honoring someone through an on-screen scroll on CBS 3. All proceeds from the day go to assisting ALSF in finding cures and better treatments for all children touched by childhood cancer.
For those who make donations during special times, there will also be incentives. Please tune in on Thursday, June 10, and pledge your support for finding a cure to childhood cancer!
