Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a young cancer patient, was only 4 years old when she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for "her hospital," so doctors could help other kids like they'd helped her. Alex held her first stand in 2000 and continued to hold lemonade stands each year, inspiring support from her community and across the nation. Although sadly Alex passed away at the age of 8, she knew she had reached the ambitious goal of raising $1 million for childhood cancer research.
We are carrying on Alex's inspiring legacy by raising money to fight childhood cancer. "Alex's hospital" just happens to be "Carson's hospital". We see the difference she made every time we walk through the halls and see her name on the Alex Scott Day Hospital. We're so thankful for her vision with her lemonade stand! Who could have imagined that a little girl could make such an impact on childhood cancer!
Last year was our first lemonade stand. We set a goal of $400. With the support of our amazing community, we raised over $2800! This year we hope to break that and make over $3000.
Being told that your child has cancer is devastating. Watching them come to terms with it is heartbreaking. We do this in hopes that we'll make a difference; that one day no family will ever have to experience it.
Thank you for your support & helping us make a difference!
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has selected 36 families as Lemonade Days Hero Reps during Alex’s Lemonade Days. The 36 Lemonade Days Hero Reps symbolically represent the 36 children diagnosed with cancer daily in the U.S. Each family has been personally impacted by childhood cancer and will spread awareness about the ongoing childhood cancer fight by sharing their personal journeys. As a part of their Lemonade Days Hero Family duties, the families will each hold a lemonade stand during Alex’s Lemonade Days, spread awareness of their initiatives to their communities and enlist community members to host their own stands.
