Thank you for checking out #Running4Blake! The month of September is globally recognized as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month #CCAM, but to anyone who has been touched by cancer, you know that a month is never enough. It is a daily battle for those fighting this cruel disease, and for their families as they support and struggle along with their brave warriors. We hope you will join us in our efforts to help Alex's Lemonade Stand in their #Journey2aMillion miles bringing awareness for these brave, innocent children.

Blake's one of the very few "lucky" ones in Cancer World. We found the Neuroblastoma incredibly early, by a series of incredible events, and he has blessedly been clear of disease since August 12, 2013, his next checkup will be in September. But we're now part of a bigger world filled with so much tragedy and so very little funding and research. The agonizing truth is that these kids, past, present, and future, have to rely on a microscopic piece of the research funding pie. The National Institute of Health only spends 4% of its budget on pediatric cancer research and programs, they deserve #morethan4. The American Cancer Society, less than 1 penny of every dollar they raise (and gets raised for them) goes specifically to pediatric cancer research or programs, in the hopes of a trickle down effect, that the advancements they make can somehow, hopefully, be utilized for kids. These kids and their families are relying on lemonade stands and GoFundMe fundraisers to help pay for outrageous medical costs and supporting the research tailored to their needs.
