When
When life gives you lemons, use them to raise funds for paediatric cancer research.
That's exactly what I'll be doing as I train to run the 2016 Chicago Marathon. As part of Team Lemon, I'll be fundraising for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation - a charity with a backstory that really tugged at my heartstrings.
The charity's founder, Alexandra “Alex” Scott, was diagnosed with cancer just before her first birthday. Shortly after a stem cell transplant at the age of 4, Alex decided she wanted to host a lemonade stand and raised $2,000 from her front yard for "her hospital." Alex and her family continued to hold yearly lemonade stands to benefit childhood cancer research. By the time she lost her battle with cancer at the age of 8, they had raised more than $1 million.
Alex's family and supporters around the world are committed to continuing her inspiring legacy through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation – now an international fundraising movement with thousands of supporters “fighting childhood cancer, one cup of lemonade at a time.”
Thanks for stopping by to learn more about ALSF and for making a donation. Please note that donations are in USD. :)
