For their community impact project, the SMCDS Girls on the Run team is holding  a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer!

Every year, an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. That's about 700 new kids affected every day. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded. Less than 5% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.

Please join the SMCDS Girls on the Run team to help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope! You can either attend the girls' lemonade stand at SMCDS on May 24th or donate right on this page - or both! Your donation will go to research seeking lifesaving treatment. The money you give has the potential to make a huge difference for these kids and their families.
