What better way to give back to the community than by fundraising for pediatric cancer research.

That's what I will be doing as I train to run the 2016 Chicago Marathon - as a member of Team Lemon in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Alexandra "Alex" Scott was diagnosed with cancer before the age of 1.  Just before her 4th birthday, she decided that she wanted to raise $2000 for "her hospital" by opening a lemonade stand.  Alex died in 2004 at the age of 8, but not before she and her family raised more than 1 million dollars for childhood cancer research.

Such an inspiring little girl!  Stories like these tug at our heart strings as we are reminded of people we know or those we have heard of in similar situations.

Today, Alex's inspiring legacy continues as people around the world support ALSF.  Thank you for dropping by my page and donating to such a worthy cause.
