Ady and friends are turning lemons into lemonade and hosting a lemonade stand as a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! Every year, an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. That's about 700 new kids affected every day; any child, at any time! And yet, sadly, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded. Did you know that less than 5% of the federal government's TOTAL funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year? Less than 5%!  Also, roughly 60% of all funding for drug development in adult cancers comes from pharmaceutical companies. For childhood cancers? Almost none. Why? Because some people feel that childhood cancer drugs are 'not profitable'. We too were never aware of these sickening facts until our lives instantly became a part of this world. These sad facts are rarely talked about which is all the more reason why we need to fight for our kids, and a cure, with all we have!
