1 month, 1 cause, 1 million miles... Kids with cancer need your help!
We are the Mighty Mama Jamas and we invite you to be too!
During the month of September (Childhood Cancer Awareness Month), Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) has the goal is to collectively run, walk and/or ride one million miles to raise funds and increase awareness of the need to support childhood cancer research. A million miles sounds like a crazy goal – some people might think it is unattainable. Sometimes, to get the world to notice, you have to be a little crazy!
- Who can participate? Anyone, anywhere can join us and fight childhood cancer!
- How many miles do we have to complete? There is no minimum, or maximum. You complete miles at your own pace. Every mile counts!
- So, why one million miles? One million miles is 40 times around the equator or two round-trips to the moon. But it’s only 76 miles for each kid or adolescent who will be diagnosed with cancer this year in the United States alone. Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children under the age of 15 in the United States. That’s why it is vital that we raise money to cure it, now.
Please consider joining the Mighty Mama Jamas and/or donating towards our effort. Miles only count during September, but you can donate any time. Together we are changing the world for kids with cancer, one mile at a time.
Our Event ID number is E1261626. This number is important to reference if you are sending in donations through the mail.
