When
Many of you already know Amanda or Allie, some just happen to know one better than the other. Starting out as strangers, Amanda and Allie found each other as roommates through mutual friends after landing their first jobs in NYC. As these past few months have continued, they came to realize that they shared something else besides their new Hoboken home; their passion for fundraising and doing what we can to help those in need.
For those of you who know Amanda's interest in Alex's Lemonade Stand, Allie also has a reason why pediatric cancer fundraising is so important to her. In August of 1995 at the age of two, Allie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, commonly called ALL. Her family was scared, confused and couldn't believe that her little self could be so sick. Through her treatment, they learned about pediatric cancer fundraising and the positive impact it has made on the advancements of cancer today. They made friends, took part in different (and really fun!) events and found hope, love, and family in people affected by the same horrible disease that they were.
Fast forward to now, and Allie thankfully and happily can call herself 18 years cancer free! Without the research, and skilled doctors and nurses that dedicated themselves to curing her cancer, Allie would not be here today. Pediatric cancer fundraising has always and will always hold a place in her heart and Allie and Amanda couldn't be more excited and thankful to take part in Alex's Million Mile together.
We welcome and encourage all of our friends to join the team and/or donate and track their walking, running, and cycling miles for the month of September to help Alex's get to 1 Million Miles. Please reach out to either of us if you have any questions.
**Donaters- PLEASE NOTE! We ask that you designate your donation to ALL, Allie's type of Leukemia. You can do this on the donation form :)
