Sooo it's been a long few years since I ran my first race for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Sidelined (but not knocked out) by breast cancer and four reconstructive surgeries, we thought we had things under control until Colton (our grandson) was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) exactly a year after my diagnosis.
During 2018 we spent a LOT of time at Johns Hopkins, thankful every day for the research and clinical trials that led to Colton receiving the care he did. He's in remission, the Hopkins visits are less often, and 2019 is the year that we try to give back by raising money for childhood cancer research.
Last year I signed up for a half marathon and thought it was an impossible goal. Guess what - I finished. This year is the full marathon (all 26.2) and I'll finish it if I have to crawl. What would make it more meaningful is if I could raise money for ALSF in the process.
The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Please help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope. Thanks for your support!
