Thank you Hatboro Running Club Supporters!
In May 2017 The Hatboro Running Club will participate in the Cape Cod Ragnar Relay. The event, a 200+ mile relay race from greater Boston to the end of Cape Cod, MA, is shared by 12 Runners and will be held on May 12-13. We would also like to use this event as a fundraising opportunity for the charities supporting children of two members with medical conditions.
This particular page is for Browyn Coleman, who was diagnosed with JMML Leukemia in April 2014 and came home, from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in December 2015. After 3 bone marrow transplants and 18 months of treatment, Browyn is cancer free. To support other children with JMML, we are running to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a powerful and reputable pediatric cancer charity.
Browyn’s form of Leukemia, known as JMML (Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia) is rare. About 1.2 cases per 1 million children are reported per year, a few dozen cases nationally. Because of the rarity of JMML, there is no standard protocol for dealing with the disease. Physicians at CHOP worked with researchers across the country and in private industry to develop a treatment and transplant plan for Browyn. Your generosity will help Alex’s Lemonade fund research that focuses on curing a host of childhood cancers, including JMML.
Please support our fundraiser by making a donation today. I also encourage you to review the charity for Ava Settelen http://goo.gl/D9B4af and consider a donation for that charity as well. 100% of your donation goes directly to those charitable organizations. In addition to donations via this page, we will be holding a funraising event on Sunday March 26th at Crooked Eye Brewery in Hatboro on Sunday March 26th at 5:30pm.
Thank you for supporting our efforts!
