Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). As many of you know, I was lucky enough to run the NYC marathon in 2016 and after completing the race I knew I wanted to do it again so I am thrilled to share with you that I will be running again this year as a member of Team Lemon!

Why Team Lemon you ask? I have been blessed with good health and amazingly supportive family and friends. I also have two beautiful children who are happy and HEALTHY and for that I am grateful every moment of every day. Unfortunately there are far too many people out there who cannot say the same thing and as a parent my heart always breaks when I hear real life stories of children fighting for their lives against some deadly disease.

ALSF's mission is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily for research into new treatments and cures, and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.

ALSF was founded by Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a young cancer patient, was only 4 years old when she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for "her hospital," so doctors could help other kids like they'd helped her. Alex held her first stand in 2000 and continued to hold lemonade stands each year, inspiring support from her community and across the nation. Although sadly Alex passed away at the age of 8, she knew she had reached the ambitious goal of raising $1 million for childhood cancer research.

There is no one I know who can say they DO NOT have a friend or relative who has battled cancer so we need to do everything we can to fight this deadly disease. Every little bit helps so thank you for considering making a donation or for continuing the fight to raise awareness. As Alex's life showed, our small contributions can make a big impact.
