Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.

Today, the money you donate has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer (and their families). 

For our 15 year wedding anniversary, Rob and I decided that we'd like to help by fundraising and running a Marathon in DC. Rest assured that none of the funds here go toward entry fees or anything to do with the race iself. All of the funds go to Alex's Lemonade Stand.

Doing this as part of the run gives me the motivation to help a cause that is so very important. I feel that running 26.2 miles is nothing compared to the challenges these small kids face each day.
