I watched my Grandso, Johann endure horrible pain from his cancer and his treatment for two years. He did not survive his battle with the cancer. We lost a talented, smart, generous, loving young man who had so much potential. I pray for a cure.

Go Delaney!

My brother, Johann was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on January 23, 2015 while he was in 8th grade attending Destin Middle School. During his treatment, he finished the ninth grade at Fort Walton Beach High School as a Viking Scholar (with a GPA over 4.0). He had dreams of becoming a surgeon. Johann passed during the first semester of his sophomore year on November 23, 2016. Despite the incredible loss, I constantly recall how lucky I am that he is my brother. Johann was quiet, shy and humble, so few people knew or will ever know just how extraordinary he was. For me, there could be no better brother. If you want to know more, just ask me! Johann fought cancer like a fearless warrior...with courage, dignity and strength. He never once felt sorry for himself or complained about his situation and always maintained his positive attitude. Johann so wanted to live and although he never had many "firsts," such as a first car, and a first job; he was happy with the life he did have. His story inspires me to live my dreams fearlessly, to stay positive and to be ready for the next big adventure. I hope his story can do the same for you.
