When
On August 26, 2014, my nephew Maxwell Reid Pogers was born, and one month later he was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). He (and his amazing parents and big sister) fought bravely for nine months, through chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
Throughout it all, Maxwell was the happiest baby you'd ever meet. His default expression was a smile, and his laugh could melt you. He absolutely LOVED "Family Feud," and his big sister was just about his favorite person in the whole world.
Maxwell regularly would raise one of his arms, curled up like he was making a muscle, reminding us all how strong he was, which is how "Maxwell Strong" became the rallying cry for fundraising events to help my sister-in-law and her family pay for Maxwell's treatments.
I'm participating in Alex's Million Mile in Maxwell's memory, to help move us closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! You can join me or donate to my page! Thanks for your support!
