All of the children who are being honored are local children who have or have had cancer. I can assure you that childhood cancer is anything but rare. Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed.
Less than 4% of government funding is allocated for pediatric cancer research. Until that changes, we the people must raise the funds to find a cure.
Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a young Neuroblastoma cancer patient, was only 4 years old when she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for "her hospital," so doctors could help other kids like they'd helped her. Alex held her first stand in 2000 and continued to hold lemonade stands each year, inspiring support from her community and across the nation. Although sadly Alex passed away at the age of 8, she knew she had reached the ambitious goal of raising $1 million for childhood cancer research.
I am carrying on Alex's inspiring legacy by raising money to fight childhood cancer. Will you make a donation? As Alex's life showed, our small contributions can make a big impact.
You can join me by helping me plan this event, attending my event, or making a donation right to this page. The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Please help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope! Thanks for your support!
