I am participating in Alex's Million Mile Event to help fund research to find a cure for childhood cancer.

A sweet 8 year old, Alice Chastain, who lives in town and goes to our local elementary school SES, was recently diagnosed, and is facing difficult times ahead. We would like to have a team to show our support for Alice, and let her know the community is fighting for her!

Every year, an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. That's about 700 new kids affected every day. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded. Less than 5% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year. Kids with cancer don't have time to wait.
