When
Alexandra "Alex" Scott, a young cancer patient, was only 4 years old when she decided to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for "her hospital," so doctors could help other kids like they'd helped her. Alex held her first stand in 2000 and continued to hold lemonade stands each year, inspiring support from her community and across the nation. Although sadly Alex passed away at the age of 8, she knew she had reached the ambitious goal of raising $1 million for childhood cancer research.
I am carrying on Alex's inspiring legacy by raising money to fight childhood cancer. Will you make a donation? As Alex's life showed, our small contributions can make a big impact.
This important fight became near and dear to my heart when I was a college student at Penn State. Penn State is home to the largest student run philanthropy in the world, a 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon nicknamed Thon. All the money raised by students is donated to the Four Diamonds Fund. This fund, just like the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, supports families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer as well as funding research that will lead to a cure.
Penn State pride + ALSF = Marine Corp Marathon! My goal is to raise $300, and to complete the 26.2 mile journey (along with Steve and Zach). Thank you so much for supporting me by making a donation to Alex's Lemonade Stand :)
