When
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is dedicated to raising money for research and awareness to childhood cancer causes and to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer. It all started with Alexandra "Alex" Flynn Scott, a young girl who was tragically diagnosed with a pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma just two days before her first birthday. At age four, in spite of her failing health, Alex held a lemonade stand to raise money to help other children with cancer. Each year, she and her older brother selflessly held “Alex's Lemonade Stand for Childhood Cancer" on her family's front lawn. Before she died at age eight in 2004, Alex raised more than $1 million to help find a cure for the disease that took her life.
Alex is a shining example of what one person can do to make a difference and I have been inspired by her to get involved.
