We all have felt the uncertainty and worry of someone we love being diagnosed with cancer. That feeling is especially magnified when that loved one is a child. I became very aware of this when two of the teachers my dad works with each had a child diagnosed with cancer. I was amazed at how family, friends, and many communities rallied around these kids to help support them and their families. One of the kids is now doing well. Unfortunately one of the kids, Charlie Rowe, lost his battle with cancer last year at the age of four! I wanted to get involved and try to do something so no child or family would have to go through another loss. I decided to become a “Champion for Charlie”. This year, my junior football season, will be dedicated to raising money to help fund cancer research for children. My plan is to ask people to make a donation or to pledge an amount they would give for each point I score for my football team, the Moon Tigers. Will you help me? Together we can make a difference. Every point I score will have money attached to it that will be turned over to cancer research at the end of the season to help children. Please help me achieve my goal of raising $1000!!
