We are taking a stand (a lemonade stand!) against childhood cancer.  We're holding a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! You can join us by attending our event, or making a donation right to this page. Our lemonade stand will feature homemade lemonade and freshly baked treats from noon-4 pm both days!  The money you donate will fund research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer (we have seen this in action as students in an ALSF funded lab)!! Please help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope! 

Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world and 36 in the US alone. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affecting children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. More than 3,000 kids die of cancer each year in the US, which is more than all other diseases combined!  And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers (all of the 12 major types combined)each year.

There are 12 major types of childhood cancers and more than 100 subtypes.  If kids do survive, the decades old treatmetns leave them with lifelong effects such as infertitility and heart failure.  This is why it is important to develop new treatments with less harmful side effects.  We have partnered with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation because we believe they fund innovative research that will get us closer to the goal of finding a cure for all childhood cancers- and that starts today!

Today, the money you donate has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer (and their families). Your donation will go to research into better and safer treatments and more cures.
