Here's a little back story on Graham.
Graham and his twin brother, were born on March 15, 2016 at 1lb 13 and 1lb 15. They were born at 25 weeks, 4 days and spent about 100 days in the NICU. Graham came home first and was a little firecracker. When Grady got home things were crazy for the family. I basically lived with Katie while Shaun was deployed, and loved every minute of helping with these boys. When Graham was 19 months old, they discovered a mass that turned out to be Stage 3 Neuroblastoma. Below is the story of how I found out.
"The first time I saw the boys I made them a promise that I'd always be there for them and I'd help mommy and daddy protect them all I coud, and so far I've done that. Grady may be my "little man" and I may spoil him a little more, but Graham ... he's something else. He's the one I watch the wiggles with all the time (the reason I have wiggles coming up in my YouTube feed), the one that is learning to make all the faces I tend to make at them and the one who just loves to smile. Yesterday, Katie kept texting me to call her -- I figured something was up, but since I was working all day yesterday I had to call her when I got off. She told me that she was delaying telling me, but she had to tell me anyways. Cancer is a hard thing to deal with, but when you're 19 month old "nephew" has it ... well it changes your whole world. I know that it hit Katie & Shaun really hard. I'm asking y'all to pray for them and for Graham. That little boy is a fighter -- he's being fighting since March 15 and this will be his biggest fight yet. So y'all please send all the prayers you've got to this amazing family and the AMAZING little boy. We need him around to find out what kind of person he's going to be when he grows up."
Two rounds of chemo and a major surgery later, Graham is clear of all cancer and in remission. Some kids aren't so lucky, but I'm thankful EVERY day that Graham is going to grow up and live a healthy life.
