As September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, approaches, Avis Budget Group wants to do more. We are joining Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in their journey to collectively run, walk and/or ride one million miles to raise awareness, Live Well and fundraise for a cure

What Is Alex’s Million Mile and What Can I Do?
Alex’s Million Mile is a month-long event organized by ALSF during September. You can choose to walk, run and/or ride during the month and log your miles, it’s that simple! All employees are challenged to walk, run or ride as many miles as they can. As a special incentive, small prizes will be awarded along the way to the most active employees.

The first step you can take is to join you local Avis Budget Group’s team by registering online. (Please note: registration is individually based, so each employee at your location who is interested in participating must register him or herself.) Once you’ve signed up, brainstorm different ways you can get your miles in! Set your daily goal at one, two or three miles a day, organize a walking group at work or at home or come up with other creative ways to get moving! The important thing is to log your miles and raise money for ALSF! There are several options available for tracking your miles too. The Alex’s Million Mile page syncs with Fitbit, MapMyFitness and Strava, so it’s easy to track your miles. (It’s simple to log your miles manually on the site as well.)

Save the date: on September 1, Alex’s Million Mile’s Kickoff date, let’s join together to walk the First Mile as a team! The First Mile is a simple act to raise awareness of the need for finding cures for childhood cancer. Plan a walk locally and gather a group of your colleagues to walk the First Mile together! Then, share pictures of your First Mile with your number of kickoff steps on Twitter @abgCare!
