Cancer is the number one disease killer of children under the age of 15. It is estimated that over 200,000 children worldwide develop cancer every year. XO Communications of Memphis is supporting and raising money for Alex's Lemonade Stand. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) grew out of the front yard lemonade stand of childhood cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott. In 2000, at the age of 4, Alex held her first lemonade stand with the hope of raising money for pediatric cancer causes,specifically research leading to a cure. Alex passed away in 2004, but her legacycontinues through the Foundation that bares her name and thousands of volunteers across the country who carry on her mission. The lessons learned from hosting a lemonade stand to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation are simple but powerful. Everyone is capable of making a difference in the world, Alex did, and so can you. We will be hosting our Lemonade Stand on Thursday August 6th and will be located in the Parking Lot of Memphis Pizza Cafe on Park.
