Trojan Nation...I am honored to use my senior season to help raise money for childhood cancer research. I have partnered with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. ALS was started by a young girl named Alexandra (Alex) Scott. Alex lost her battle with cancer at 8 years old, but not before starting a campaign that raised over $1 million. In 2012, Ohio's All State Football player, Matt Colella, who also battled cancer as a middle school student, started the Kick It Champion program. This is how the Kick It Champion program works: during the season, pledges can be made for every point scored by kicks (field goals and PATs). For example: a pledge of $2 per point x 50 points = $100 donation. Lump sum donations will also be accepted. At the end of the season, all money raised, including pledges, will be sent to Alex's Lemonade Stand. (Emails will be sent for pledge donors to review and instructions on making payment.) ALS will then distribute our money to the appropriate location. The money collected by the Trojan Nation will be earmarked for lymphoma research in honor of our brother and teammate, Chase McDaniel. My goal is to raise at least $2500. Thank you in advance for your support. If you are unable to donate, please consider praying for Chase and his family as he continues his fight. Go Trojans!
