Hi everyone!
I have registered to be a virtual runner in the 2009 5K Lemon Run/Walk that the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is hosting to raise money for child cancer patients. All donations and registration fees received will go directly to the foundation to help fund childhood cancer research. The foundation provides grants to test the latest research ideas and to increase access to new treatments for children with cancer. Nursing grants are also given to explore practical ways to improve the quality of life and care of children with cancer.
The race is set for Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 9:00 am in Pennsylvania, however I will be running it at this time in Boston. I would greatly appreciate any donations to my fund run, as the money will go directly to helping cancer research for children. My birthday is the day after the run, on October 26, so to my family and friends, in lieu of a birthday present/card, please consider making a donation to this cause!
Also, if you are in the Boston area, or would like to travel here for the weekend, please let me know if you'd like to come and run with me! Registration for the official ALSF Lemon Virtual Run event is $20 and can be done online. Free T-shirts are given out to the first 500 people who register!

Once I see how many people are interested in running this 5K with me, I will plan a starting location and route for our run in Boston.
And check out the story of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and how it was formed in the memory of 8-year-old Alex Scott, who helped raise around $1 million dollars selling lemonade to fund research for childhood cancer before the disease took her life in 2004.

Thank you to everyone for your support!
