About Richard Coccodrilli
Little Richies life was cut short , At 14 months Richie was diagnosed with Fusion negative rhabdomyosarcoma we found a lump in the back of his leg he then got a biopsy on it. He wound up getting MRSA the cancer also spread to his lungs he was strong against chemotherapy they had to offer doctors were saying it would make a grown man cry but little Richie stayed happy through it all he had times where he was sick but we made it happy for him we were trying to get the cancer small enough to where they could do surgery on his leg and cut it out so we can bend do radiation but the tumor on his leg kept growing and that then wasn't possible we've switched hospitals and tried everything we could when we had switch hospitals the doctors told us there's nothing they could do so we went back to Saint Christopher's and the doctor there tried more chemo regimens for a little while the tumor was getting smaller but then the chemo stopped working Little Richie was the smartest happiest and strongest little boy anybody could know we fought this battle for about 10 months he never fully could walk so he would get around on his knees. We went back and forth to the hospital we would stay there months at a time. St Christopher's Hospital was like family he had a feeding tube but by the end the cancer things got so much worse he was on heavy pain meds to where the pain meds wouldn't even stop his pain he couldn't sit up all he could do was lay down he was still a happy boy it was very hard to go through this watching my little boy suffer. Christmas came and we celebrated at the hospital and the last month after that things just wouldn't get any better the doctors and nurses tried anything they could for us in him. At this point there is nothing left to try and we just hold on to our faith and prayed but finally Little Richie was called home a month before his second birthday it took 10 months for this cancer to take the life of a special little boy ,we love you little Richie. Your wings were ready but our hearts were not .
