Andrew and Alex's Lemonade Stand is such a special event to my family and my community. We usually host the stand during the national lemonade days which is in June. This year we decided to host the stand in September because the last 3 years have been extremely hot. I hope you will all join us for a cup of lemonade on Saturday September 26, 2009 for the 4th annual Andrew and Alex's Lemonade Stand. This event is so very important to me because I know what a difference research can make in saving the life of a child. It saved my son. Andrew was only 9 months old when he was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma. After several rounds of chemotherapy and surgery, he is cancer free today. Andrew is 4 years old and likes to swim, ride his bike and play with his 2 best friends, his brother Anthony and his cousin Rocco. He is very expressive and has aspirations of being a doctor when he grows up because he "wants to take care of people". Andrew had a fighting chance because of monies that were raised to support research. Alex Scott started this wave of lemonade stands that raised awareness of research. She wanted to help the doctors find a cure for cancer. She is no longer here to help them but as long as I am here I will help those doctors find a cure for childhood cancer.
