Faircrest Art Show and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Save the date! We’re hosting an art show in the neighborhood! Date: Saturday, September 19 Time: 10am – 2pm Place: 33 Jessica Circle The birth of this event: When my sisters were little, they would excitedly turn their bedroom into a gallery where they displayed pictures they had made. Then they would invite me and parents upstairs to buy their creations. I decided to resurrect the idea with my own kids. So having an art show sounded fun…but opening it up to the neighborhood sounded even better…and then donating all proceeds to charity (Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which raises money to help fight childhood cancer) sounded best. It is an opportunity to have fun, support a good cause and help teach kids the importance of giving to others. How it will work: We’re going to turn the front yard into a gallery! All ages (from 1 to 100) and levels (beginner to advanced) are invited to participate. Everyone is welcome to submit art, crafts, poems, etc. to sell at the show (multiple submissions are permitted). Kim, who runs a party-favor business from her home, has kindly offered to donate her delicious chocolates to the sale. We are seeking other snack donations, too. Lemonade, of course, will also be available! How you can help: • Create art for the show * Please let me know in advance if you think you might participate so I have enough tables to display the masterpieces * Please drop off your art/crafts/poems in advance if possible * Artists are not required to attend the show (so if you paint a picture to sell, but can’t come to the show, that's OK) • Donate a snack to be sold at the show (are there any bakers out there?) • Come to the show! Bring a friend!
