We chose to do an Alex's Lemonade Stand to benefit childhood cancer because we lost a dear young friend to cancer recently. For our family, it was especially hard because the boy was only one month older than our son. The family has always been very close to us. We always wanted to be able to do more for them but never really had the opportunity. We knew of the situation from the moment they found out and began prayign for this family right away. I guess that is what we can do. However, last summer (June 2008) we held a lemonade stand to help out the family and raised over $400. We know this community could do something big and special again. This year, choosing Alex's Lemonade, we can benefit something bigger than our community and hopefully life giving in the end.
